I only bought this as it was recommended to by store staff to replace a failing interface from another brand. You can run ThinkingRock on both Windows and Mac machines by copying the program folder on a USB key. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful. On the whole recording is clean and sounds nice for its price range. I was a bit disappointed by this as the store staff assured me that this wouldn't be an issue.

I own a 2022 top end macbook pro (£3499) and was only to run 2 instances of the same soft synth before it started give me the warnings and cut outs began. I have to be honest I do find it a bit hard work as I am producing an album and it won't let me run many AU instruments on mac at the same time. Microphone and headphones in the pack are ok Headphones output is really good and clear. I find using it very easy and to the point, something that is a good thing if you are just getting started out. The Volt 276 has a very nice clean sound to it. My only wish was that I had an 8 channel version to aspire towards someday. They struggle to drive my Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones (650's but newer and better). I also wish the headphone out preamp was a bit beefier. The only nit picks I have are, I wish it didn't need a separate power cable, having to take two spots on my macbook pro is rough. Haven't gotten too much out of the vintage knob /button myself yet but will be playing with that more. The build quality is top notch, feels built to last like a real nice studio piece. The pres are nice and clean, whether you're direct instrument in or through XLR and a mic.
Haven't tried vocals yet but I'm sure it'll do well there too. Makes me have very little I need to do to bass or guitar dynamics wise. The 1176 that's built into it is really quite killer. The holiday sale that included the plate reverb, a drawmer plugin, and the LA2A really sealed the deal for me (a bunch of other stuff too but those stood out the most to me). Between the looks and the idea of an 1176-ish built into my interface I was tempted. I'll admit half the reason I replaced my presonus audio box with this was the general vibe. Perfect home studio interface, don't sleep on the built in 1176!
